Hi, my name is Yolmar Chacón García
It is my passion to work with those who have struggled with trauma in their lives. I have worked with victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, people struggling with childhood trauma, victims of crime, adolescents, and veterans. I am committed to helping individuals affected by trauma recover while guiding them through their healing process. I understand healing is individualized to the needs of each person. Moreover, being an immigrant myself I am committed to working with those going through immigration proceedings by conducting immigration evaluations.
I was born in Venezuela. However, my family relocated to the U.S. in search for a better quality of life. I joined the United States military after graduating high school. After serving, I moved back to Florida where I began my journey to becoming a Clinical Social Worker.

My Experience
I have provided counseling services to women, men and teenagers who have experienced trauma, childhood trauma, sexual trauma, emotional pain from medical and mental health diagnoses (creating stigmas), PTSD, anxiety, grief/loss, and depression. I use techniques from many different therapy models such as CBT, DBT, Narrative therapy, Mindfulness practices, Internal Family Systems among others. I understand people need their individual process and using different techniques helps ease the process into reaching their goals.
Additionally, I have experience in conducting and completing many alcohol /drug evaluations and mental health evaluations. I have been lucky to work with populations who struggle with severe mental health illnesses and substance abuse issues. Most often there are many factors that play a role in these cases and lead to being involved in legal incidents. My reports as unbiased, reporting facts and treatment recommendations if necessary.
Moreover, I have knowledge of the impact an emotional support animal can have on someone struggling with anxiety and depression. These are difficult conditions to live with and animals can make things feel easier and motivating. Emotional Support Animals can be key to helping someone reduce anxiety and depression symptoms.
Furthermore, my experience with immigration evaluation reports has been a professional and personal one. I come from an immigrant family who has also experienced difficulty with the immigration procedures and constant worry about legal status. Immigration evaluation reports can be a strong supportive factor in these cases, and it is important to capture all the information provided by the client to aid establishing a strong immigration case.
